Q: Is Teleport a secure service? Can it be used to scan confidential or classified material?
A: Teleport operates on public cloud AWS instances to maximize scan quality. There are various security measures in place tied to data encryption & segregation. However, generally speaking, we would not recommend using Teleport in secret or classified environments at the moment. For more information, please reach out for a conversation via this link.
Q: Who can view a capture from the share link?
A: When it comes to sharing, anybody who has the 'share link' can view the Teleport scene that has been captured, so keep that in mind for the purposes of any internal or external distribution.
Q: Can I view my capture on my phone or tablet?
A: Teleport captures currently cannot be viewed on your iPhone.
Q: What platforms can Teleport be viewed on?
A: Teleport captures can be viewed on mobile devices, desktop and laptop PCs, and supported VR headsets.
Q: How scale accurate are Teleport scans?

Q: How much storage space will Teleport require on my device during capturing?
A: Teleport will temporarily require up to 5GB space during capturing, but it will free this up after the upload has been completed. We advise checking and freeing up more than 5GB on your device if you intend on making numerous large captures.
Q: Do my captures remain stored on my iPhone?
A: No. Once the upload of your capture has been completed the capture data is removed from your device. Only in cases where the upload of a scan failed (e.g. from connectivity issues) will the scan remain on device for recovery. For more information on recovering these scans, visit 'Capture Recovery'.
Q: Do captures I view remain stored on my PC?
A: Yes. Downloaded captures are stored to repeatedly view the captures without a need to download them every time. Uninstalling the Teleport Desktop App removes any downloaded captures.
Q: How do I subscribe to Teleport’s Pro tier?
A: In order to start a subscription, log in to teleport.varjo.com > Profile > 'Manage Subscription' > 'Add Payment Method'. Please visit General > 'Account & Subscription' in the Teleport Knowledge Base to learn more.
Q: How many scans can I make with Teleport's paid tier?
A: Currently, the Teleport paid tier allows the respective account to create up to 15 scans per month.
Q: Can additional scans be purchased once the 15 monthly scan limit is reached?
A: Please reach out to us via either teleport@varjo.com or by booking a meeting at this link to discuss.
Q: What happens if I don’t create 15 scans by the end of the month? Do they carryover / accumulate?
A: No, all Teleport scans are ‘use it or lose it’ and will not accumulate or carryover from month to month.
Q: What counts as a completed scan towards my scan limit? Do failed scans or poorly generated scans impact my remaining scan count?
A: The scan allowance will decrease by 1 every time a scan is uploaded. If the scan fails during reconstruction, the scan allowance will go back up by 1, meaning that failed scans will not count towards the remaining scan count.
Q: Will I lose the scans created during my free trial once the period ends? How can I view them without a subscription? Will I be able to annotate / measure / export those scans?
